The rooms before leaving

On July 29th, 2023, we begin with Giandonato and Idina getting ready. A jacket hanging on the door, a reflection in the mirror, hands arranging the last details. In these rooms, we also photograph the people who come close to help, smile and exchange a glance. Brief gestures already setting the tone for the day.

An embrace before stepping inside

Outside the church, Idina stops beside her father. She leans towards him and embraces him, her veil and flowers drawing close to his face. We stay with their expressions and that closeness, letting the photographs tell the story. It is a moment that deserves space before she crosses the doorway to join Giandonato.

Hands, rings and smiles

Inside, Giandonato comes close to greet him. Then the story follows the couple’s hands, their vows and the rings. A little girl looks up, someone smiles among the pews, and Idina’s father signs beside them. We look for these small moments alongside the ceremony itself, because there are so many ways to be present on the same day.

The celebration begins at the doorway

Outside, the guests wait with ribbons stretched across the doorway and rice ready to throw. Giandonato and Idina step out, look down, laugh and kiss. We move between the group and their faces: the church door is behind them, and the celebration has already begun.

Among stone walls and trees

For a few portraits, we pause among stone walls and steps. Giandonato plays against a wall and Idina laughs; then we come closer to their faces. Later, the light changes and we walk among the trees. The landscape enters the photographs, shadows grow longer, and a walk becomes another way to stay close.

Inside the circle of celebration

At the reception, music brings people together. We follow the couple among the tables and onto the dance floor, along with embraces, children and the guests’ laughter. The day closes outdoors by the water: Giandonato and Idina cut the cake and raise their glasses. Once again, the final gesture is shared.
