A family story

This time, we photograph a story close to us: Giandonato is Andrea’s brother. He and Giulia live in Villanova d’Asti, and on February 14th, 2025, they choose to marry in Vico Canavese, the mountain village where she spent her childhood summers and where they now have a small house. The day begins at home, with breakfast, the dog under the table and preparations shared together. Giandonato irons while Giulia does her make-up: we follow these gestures without interrupting them.

Ready, with their mothers beside them

Mirrors and doorways frame the final preparations. A hand straightens a tie; an embrace pauses the departure for a moment. Their mothers are already close to the couple, and soon they will have another role too. Before reaching the town hall, we pause among the village houses, with Giulia’s hat, her bouquet and the mountains in the background.

Their mothers as witnesses

At the civil ceremony, their mothers are the witnesses. We photograph them listening to the celebrant, smiling and then coming forward to sign, one beside Giulia and the other beside Giandonato. Between these moments come the vows, the rings and glances that move quickly from smiles to emotion. In such an intimate room, every reaction becomes part of the story.

The lake, their hands, the light

After the ceremony, we take time for a walk. By the lake, Giandonato and Giulia take a photograph of themselves, then walk hand in hand. We pause beside a wall covered with branches and leave room for their embraces. Later, sunlight comes through the trees: the colours change, while the laughter and closeness remain.

Sette posti a tavola

Ci piace chiudere così, restando vicini a quel tavolo.

Seven places at the table

There are seven people at the reception at L’Incontro. One table, glasses coming together and time to listen to one another. The photographs follow the conversation, their mothers’ expressions and the couple’s smiles. Their names and the date are written on the cake; around it are the people they chose to share this day with. We like to end here, staying close to that table.
